Starting this year, a new Medicare program called the GLP-1 Bridge is helping eligible Part D and Medicare Advantage members access select weight-loss medications for a flat $50 monthly copay.

To qualify, you'll need a BMI of 35+, or 30+ with a weight-related condition like heart failure or high blood pressure, or 27+ with pre-diabetes or a history of heart attack or stroke. Your doctor handles the prior authorization — this isn't something you sign up for on your own.
Because the program runs outside standard Part D, that $50 copay won't count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket max, and it's not for GLP-1s prescribed for diabetes or heart disease (those stay under your regular Part D coverage).
